The Jackson County Memorial Hospital Foundation was established in 1987 to support the hospital’s vision of being the hospital of choice for people in Southwest Oklahoma.
The Foundation is a separate, non-profit entity that seeks to generate funds through community donations to enhance patient care, offer educational opportunities, purchase equipment and complete projects.
Giving Opportunities
Tax-deductible contributions can be mailed to the JCMH Foundation, P.O. Box 8190, Altus, OK, 73522. Your gift will be acknowledged and can be designated to the area of your choice. To discuss your giving opportunities, call the Foundation at 580-379-5771.
Employee Scholarship
Hospital employees are eligible to apply for an Employee Scholarship, up to $500, each semester. The scholarship was established for hospital employees enrolled in general education courses or a technology program in the healthcare field. Applications are accepted for the fall, spring and summer semesters.
Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma
Contributions made to the JCMH campus of the Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma are used for projects and patient needs. The Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma began operating in 2008, bringing a new level of advanced care to Southwest Oklahoma. Right here at home.
Mac Mollison Scholarship
The Mac Mollison Scholarship helps our future doctors and nurses get the medical education they deserve. Through the JCMH Foundation, the Mac Mollison scholarship has awarded medical scholarships based on academic performance and financial need every year since 1998.
The scholarship was established in 1995 in memory of Dr. Malcolm Mollison, beloved Altus physician and community leader. Community donors and hospital employees support the scholarship fund.
Scholarship applications are accepted from students from Southwest Oklahoma enrolled in Medical School or a Master or Doctorate level of Nursing. The call for applications is made each May.
Committee members are Joe Leverett, M.D., Greg Pickett, D.O., John Root, M.D., Steve Hartgraves, JCMH CEO, The Reverend Suzanne Mollison, and Amanda Reimer, JCMH.
Judy & Gwynn Womack Memorial Scholarship
The Judy and Gwynn Womack Memorial Scholarship accepts applications from students from Southwest Oklahoma who are enrolled in Medical School, Dental School, Physician Assistant, and Advance Practice Nurse Practitioner programs. The call for applications is made annually in May.
The scholarship assists area students who want to return to the Southwest Oklahoma community to practice medicine.
The Womack’s son, Dr. James “Thumper” Womack, established the scholarship in 2012. Judy and Gwynn were long time Altus residents. They were active citizens of Altus with numerous friends and colleagues.
